Error 404: Mom Not Found
It’s Thursday and I am still paying for the over-exertion of Tuesday because because I chose to literally do all my errands during the hottest time of the day while just using my cane and not my wheelchair. I did all my chores in person: paid the electric bill, paid the gas bill, paid my cellphone bill, went to my psychiatrist to sign a ROI, and went to the post office to mail a large box full of art supplies and caretaking treats to my new disabled artist friend from Threads. I had asked my brother to drop Ivy and I off at my favorite coffee shop downtown, but by the time I left the post office, I was physically and mentally exhausted and couldn’t handle the sensory stimulation of going to a business coffee shop to do art. I needed air conditioning and rest. I definitely over-exerted myself.
Yesterday I finally ordered myself a new laptop since my laptop finally broke. The screen broke off the keyboard and broke the internal screws. A new HP 2026 in rose gold was cheaper than taking my laptop to be repaired. So I just bought a new one—which I really need to manage this blog and website. I also received my custom business logo and it’s beautiful! It’s a pink, black, grey, and white Phoenix rising above the ashes of my old life. I’m excited to take this blog and website to what I imagine it to be! I can’t wait to order business cards with my logo and a QR code that will take you to the blog of the website. I also want to fix the code of the pages to play music when people open the site. I think bilateral brain waves are epic for trauma and chronic pain.
In my upcoming blogs, I plan to explain what Treatment-Resistant Depression is and how I’ve tried about 85% of available treatments to aid it. Most antidepressants don’t work for me, along with other therapies and other specialist trials, as well as other medications. I did just recently sign up for, and my insurance approved of, Somatic Therapy, which is a more physical hands-on type of PTSD treatment than EMDR. I look forward to my first treatment session of Somatic Therapy, as I’ve only had my consultation and intake appointments with Teri. She’ll be on my Team Page soon! I want to have some experience with her before I add her to my team.
I will also be making a post about my recent psychiatric hold at a local mental health facility. My civil and ADA rights were violated in many illegal ways, leading to more trauma being developed from the stay, versus feeling supported and treated for my mental and emotional instability. Instead, I was met with cold, inappropriate, and sometimes violent staff at this facility. I wrote an 18-page essay about my experience at this place where I spent nearly 2-weeks. I cried so much during this very uncomfortable stay. I can’t wait to share that essay with you, the local news channels, as well as the local newspapers. The treatment I experienced during that June 3rd to June 16 stay should be illegal and the staff needs trauma-informed skills training, as well as DEIA training to learn that disabled, different, LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent people all deserve respect and dignity during such a vulnerable time.
As for everything else, I need to make sure I don’t lose myself during this transitional time. I’m excited to make all these decisions and share my journey with you all, but I am terrified that I’m starting another ADHD pet project and I’ll eventually abandon it and myself due to lack of encouragement and enthusiasm, and probably a complete dissolution of my perspective and motivation. I want to make myself a posting schedule, on top of the schedules and event calendar I’ll be creating for this site. I’m most excited to share recipes and weekly meal menu plans and grocery lists. I’m also going to have a Spotify and Chat Room page where we can support each other while listening to good music!
For those of you who have already started supporting the website, thank you! I haven’t even advertised it yet, but your footprints have been helpful! To all 100 “unique views” thank you for checking out the site! It’ll be fully functional for our August 1st official debut! I look forward to sharing my life with you all. I hope you find inspiration and encouragement to follow your dreams, goals, and aspirations. Make yourself and your health numero uno, because we CANT pour from an empty cup. So, together, let’s fill our cups and carry on in this life and cheer each other on! I hope if this blog made a subtle change in your mind, leave me a comment and let me know how you feel and what you’d like to see come out of this website and blog.
